Biographical / Historical

The Wellesley College Orchestra was founded in 1904. In 1904 the Orchestra Leader was E. Sophie Brown (1904). It was replaced by the Chamber Music Society during the 1958-1959 academic year. Margaret Duesenberry, the then-conductor of the orchestra, stayed on to direct the Chamber Music Society program.
